Replacement Roofing Experts
We have found that there are two types of needs when a person is in the market for a new roof.
The first type takes preventative measures in advance because they see visible wear and tear or they know that the life expectancy of a roofing shingle made prior to 1994 has expired. The second type is reacting to either a leak or a full blown flood with major water damage. Either way, Home Visions knows that replacing your roof is an important investment and that is why we are confident that we can educate you on how to properly upgrade your roof at an affordable price and get the job done quickly and efficiently.
Home Visions is a CertainTeed Shingle Master company.
Home Visions is fully licensed with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, carries a complete insurance policy to protect our men and your home, we are bonded and we have a perfect record with the Better Business Bureau.

Home Visions' Roofing System
A buyer's guide to quality and proper roofing installation.
All areas are cleaned and prepared for maximum adhesion!
- Old shingles, flashing, underlayment and drip edge will be torn off. Roof sheathing will then be inspected for integrity. If the sheathing is rotten, full replacement will take place including fire retardant materials if required.
- Leak prevention systems will be installed after all sheathing is properly installed. The leak prevention membrane is installed around roof edges, ridges, dormer valleys, pipes and chimneys. This step comes standard with Home Visions but it's not included in most roof jobs.
- 15 - 30 lb. underlayment is installed on top of the uncovered sheathing. (15 lb. felt is standard.) The underlayment should be installed cleanly and evenly to prevent any water build up under the shingles.
- Water diverters and all flashing is installed. Corner water diverters will be installed anywhere a shingle meets a gutter and on eave corners in order to direct water into the gutter. This step comes standard with HVI but it's not included in most roof jobs. Flashing, chimney wraps and pipe collars should be installed at this time.
- Shingles of the customer's choice will be installed followed by step flashing.
- Finally all debris, nails, and trash in the yard will be cleaned up.
