Vinyl is made from ingredients of nature: chlorine, based on common salt and ethylene from natural gas. By using complex chemistry, vinyl can be made into several end products with varying degrees of flexibility or rigidity as well as clear or colorful and in different sizes and shapes. For instance, in the fabrication process of making vinyl replacement windows, the chemical compound Titanium Dioxide is used to make the vinyl stronger as well as for it's reflective properties so it can hold up in extreme cold and heat. Several great things about vinyl for replacement windows is that it is affordable, energy efficient and can last a lifetime. Vinyl is a major player in products used for residential and commercial construction.
Did you know? Vinyl is the third largest plastic consumed globally. Vinyl windows and doors are growing in popularity. Since the first vinyl windows were installed in the 1950s, vinyl has continued to grow market share due to its sought after physical properties and design versatility. Vinyl windows and doors offer a unique combination of energy efficiency, ease of maintenance and low cost.
1. Fusion-Welded Contruction - bonds each corner together to create rigid, one-piece panels that offer reliable strenght and durability.
2. Multi-Point Locking System - added security with this heavy duty, thumb turn style deadbolt locking mechanism.
3. Intercept Spacer - keeps glass warmer for increased efficiency and comfort, while flexing and contracting to reduce seal failure.

AAMA stands for the American Architectural Manufacturing Association. The windows we carry are tested for specific standards. Each replacement window is tested in independent third-party laboratories to assure that standards are met for structural adequacy to withstand:
√ Wind Loads
√ Air Infiltration
√ Resistance to Water Leakage
√ Forced Entry Resistance
√ Additional Non-Required Performance Standards
Low-E is a film placed on the inside of the glass to reduce radiant heat transfer through the glass by using reflection. This really comes in to play during the summer months. Gas fills are colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic gases such as Argon and Krypton which are up to six times denser than air. The added gas fill helps reduce temperature transfer by replacing the air between the two panes.
Tempered glass features the surface going through an added compression stage. It is required by code that all sliding glass doors have tempered glass. When shattered, the glass breaks into tiny harmless pieces. Laminated glass features a piece of thick plastic sandwiched between two panes of glass. When fused, the interlayer creates a stong barrier so if the glass is broken, it adheres to the plastic interlayer and cannot be penetrated.
Spacers are the materials placed between two or more pieces of glass in order to maintain a uniform width between the glass, and prevent sealant distortion. All windows come with spacer units, made of various materials along with different shapes and sizes.
You can put the world’s greatest patio door in your home, however if it is not properly installed you will end up with some of the same issues that you may currently be experiencing.
Our highly skilled door technicians obtain correct and accurate measurements of each of your patio door openings that you are having replaced. We always measure the height and width in three locations including across the top from side to side, across the middle from side to side, across the bottom from side to side, at the left side from the bottom to the top, at the center from the bottom to the top and finally at the right side from bottom to top.
Our production team compiles the measurements into an accurate order form that is sent electronically to our local distributor. At that time a cad drawing of each patio door unit is drawn up and sent back electronically for our staff to verify order accuracy. Once approval has been obtained by our highly trained team the distributor initiates the order in the queue and the patio doors begin the process of custom fabrication.
Schedules are reviewed including arrival of the patio doors, available times for our installation crews and most importantly our customer's schedule so that a day can be chosen for the big project to begin.
Installation day arrives. Our crews arrive and begin the process of carefully removing the old patio doors so that the new product can be installed. Our installers use a four pronged approach to properly installing the new replacement doorss that is in line with the manufacturer's recommeded procedures. This includes:
√First, we use high quality insulation between the door frame and the rough opening frame of your home.
√Next, we use our exclusive TrimShield exterior capping package where we carefully measure and bend a special product to conform to the outside trim around your patio door.
√While outside, we use a high quality caulk that specially formulated for exterior use in the Mid-Atlantic region.
√Finally, we use an acrylic caulk on the inside of the home to further seal your investment as well as finish the job cleanly and professionally.
